Coming Events February February 1st, Wednesday: The Morning Circle will meet in the Fellowship Hall for a short meeting at 10:0 AM.. Afterwards they will depart for a Lunch Out. ********** February 3rd, Friday: First Friday Program at Makemie Woods. Great fellowship and food, Lunch ($7.00) begins at 12:30PM. The program for this month: Do you have a lifetime of slides in boxes and trays gathering dust in storage? Susan LaFrance from The Chesapeake will show us how they can become a beautiful lampshade! Or call her at 757.566.1496 (Williamsburg, Peninsula, New Kent) or 1-800.566.1496 (All others) ********** February 5th, Sunday: "Coffee time for the Congregation" will be held after the Morning Worship Service in the Fellowship Hall. ********** February 7th, Wednesday: The Shelby Friend Circle will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 6:00 PM. ********** February, 13th, Monday: Choir visit to Walter Reed Convalescent Center, for a joyful hour of fellowship, song and visiting with the residents. Meet there at 2:30 P.M. ********* February 19th, Sunday: The Senior Adult Group will host it's Annual Pizza Party in the Fellowship Hall at 4:30 P.M... Just a reminder, the Choir Rehearsal is every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM here at the Church. * * * * * * * * * * * * * Opportunity for Service.. * * * * * * * * * * The Groves Session has approved providing dinners for the Free Clinic once a quarter. Our dinner for 1st Quarter, will be Tuesday, January 31st, if you would like to help please contact Stella Austin.. Food Bank........ Non-perishable food items may be placed in the box in the vestibule. The items collected by us will be delivered to Union Baptist Church in at the end of each month to be included in their Food Pantry. During these times of economic distress these items are needed by families in our community. So, please give freely + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Farm Fresh Grocery Receipts..... Again, this this year, we are collecting Farm Fresh grocery receipts. This is a program that a designated local school will received $$$$ based on how much we can collect in receipts. Last year we were able to collect over Three Thousand Dollars in receipts. A basket is on the table in the entry way so that you may deposit your receipts. Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald's House We are collecting tabs as a money raiser for the Ronald McDonald House program. There is a container on the table in the entry way for you to place your tabs in. Ellen Phillips is the contact person on this project. * * * * * * * * Organizational Meetings!! Monday, February 6th: The Session will hold it's monthly meeting in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 P.M. |
