We would like to take a few moments to welcome YOU to our website and hopefully OUR CHURCH..... ********************** Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church had it's beginnings in 1885 as a Sabbath School in Saddler's neck, not far from our present location. The church moved to its current site in 1903 after the construction of a new wood framed building. Services were conducted in the original wood frame up until 1968 when it was replaced by the current building. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * What You Can Expect at our Worship Service
Our
Service starts at 10 AM. Our Worship Service is rather traditional, we follow an Order of Worship that is outlined in our Sunday Bulletin.
We sing hymns,
our minister
usually wears a robe,
presents a sermon, and the
choir sings an anthem. Even though our style of
worship is along
traditional
Presbyterian lines, we are rather informal.
We
love to sing, laugh and enjoy worshipping our Lord and Savior. Most dress casually
and although we do we have a
few
suits
and
ties here and there. You can grab a bulletin off
the table at the table to the entrance of the Sanctuary that will
tell you what's happening now and in the coming weeks.
And I am sure that someone
will greet you shortly..
There
are no reserved seats, so please feel free to sit anywhere. Our minister’s sermons
touch us right where we're at in our lives. Now, all you have to do is
sit back, relax, and worship with us! If you have any questions,
please feel free to ask anyone, if they don’t have the answer
be sure that they
will find someone who can
get the answer. Our Pastor
is
at the door as you exit after the service and he will surely greet
you as you depart after the service.
Almost forgot:
we have Sunday School classes in the
Fellowship
Hall to the right
of the Sanctuary, beginning at 9:00
AM….
